Most climbers should consider carrying a small first aid kit and knowing what to do with it - few do. Basics would include: Paracetemol, Ibuprofen, plasters, a bandage, some antiseptic and a small pair of scissors (or a Swiss Army Knife).
Other useful things to include are Blister Treatments and Climb On - this latter a marvellous invention of two American sisters that does wonders on the frayed skin resulting from an overindulgence in sport climbing or gritstone hand jamming.
A Large First-Aid-Kit is indispensable for any outdoor activity, such as climbing, trekking or bike tours. The waterproof and abrasion proof material ensures that the kit is protected and kept dry, yet is easy to access in any situation.
The Medium First-Aid-Kit is quite small and just holds the bare minimum. It is made of durable nylon, lightweight and waterproof material, with combined rolling closure/Velcro fastener.
Excellent blister treatment (but do read the instructions about warming the plaster in your hands before applying it!).
Excellent treatment for gritstone gash and other climber's skin ailments.
Excellent treatment for gritstone rash and other climber's skin ailments. A more liquid form of the Climb On bar.
Peppermint flavoured lippy for moisturising chapped lips - not suitable as a sunblock.
Essential expedition gear for those stuck in a snow-bound tent with a snoring climbing partner.
