The major producers of alpine climbing guides to Europe in English are the Alpine Club, West Col and Diadem. Rockfax and Cicerone concentrate mainly on hotrock guides (see footnotes below on all these publishers).
The most important UK importer of foreign guides and distributor of Foreign and British guides and maps is Cordee, whose website lists most of what is available. Many foreign language guides are unavailable in the UK but a lot of information can be obtained from the web. Cordee also publish guides in their own right. We can obtain any guide or map that Cordee have in stock.
There are many other guides available in a variety of languages, a large selection of which are available through this site. All are in English unless stated otherwise.

Notes on British publishers of European guidebooks:
The Alpine Club is the oldest mountaineering club in the world. It is based in London and whilst the majority of its members are British, many are from abroad. Membership is open to anyone who meets fairly minimal requirements that demonstrate a committment to climbing in the alps and greater ranges. The Alpine Club produces a small but important range of guidebooks to the main alpine areas of Europe. Amendments to the AC guidebooks can be found at AC Guidebook Updates.
Cicerone publish an enormous range of walking and trekking guides as well as several good climbing ones. They list all their guides at their website and we can obtain any of them, whether on our website or not.
Bâton Wicks (formerly Diadem) produce a small series of alpine guides under the inspiration of Ken Wilson.
Rockfax produce an attractive range of hotrock guides to bolted crag climbs. They have an excellent website with free updates and other advice.
Jingo Wobbly bear many similarities to Rockfax and are producing an attractive range of hotrock guides to crag climbs in France. They have a website detailing their guides.
West Col is a small UK publisher specialising in english language guides to alpine areas outside of the major venues. The guides are basic but functional and are often the only source of information in English available.
