A new version the classic plastic boot that has stood on the summit of many of the world's biggest peaks. This now has a much improved inner that is capable of coping with the world's highest and coldest places and is quite up to tackling 8000m peaks.
This new inner was made for the Indian Army ca 2003 and has been designed to cope with both high altitude use and squaddies. It is thus both very warm and very tough. It has also been well tried and tested.
Very approximate guide to altitude/conditions this boot is suitable for: 8000m (ie Scottish winter, summer and winter alpine and all Himalayan peaks).
NB This boot does not come with insoles - you have to buy them separately or provide your own.
NB2 This boot has a very pronounced curve to the sole which means it is very hard to fit any crampons to it other than full step-in (crampomatic type).
