A single version of the spring leash with a lightweight rotating swivel screwgate accessory krab at one end and a lark's footable loop at the other. The rotator krab means that things should get in less of a tangle than usual - however it does make the unit 28g heavier than the standard version and all this increase is at the krab end.
Designed for use with an alpine or walking axe so that you do not constantly need to change the leash from one hand to the other when ascending or descending a slope by zig-zagging.
Clip or lark's foot one end of the leash to the axe and the other end to your rucksack. As far as we can see it doesn't matter which end you use for the axe and it might be simplest to lark's foot the big loop to the head of the axe (ie poke it through the hole in the head of the axe and then feed the whole leash through the loop of tape and tighten it) and use the karabiner to clip it to the shoulder strap of your rucksack. However, it can be done the other way round, ie clip the screwgate into the head of the axe etc. Clipping it to something high up like a rucksack strap, rather than into a waistbelt, means you are less likely to trip over it.
NB The small karabiner has a maximum strength of 750kg and must never be used instead of a normal karabiner when climbing or belaying.
78g.
