The Cobra Scottish Mixed Special is designed for hard water ice climbs and technical alpine routes and, as you'd expect, Scottish Mixed. Comes equipped with Standard (Large) Adze, Standard (Large) Hammer, Titan Picks and removable Fangs and Strikes. NB Leashes are not included (though Lock Down or Android Leashes can easily be added).
The lightweight carbon fibre shaft gives it the most clearance of any of BD's tools without sacrificing balance. It also reduces the overall weight by over 100 grams over the previous version. The carbon fibre shaft keeps the majority of the tool's weight in the head. Carbon fibre also provides vibration-free placements with minimal flex, a damp, balanced swing and wrist-flick first time placements. A rubber grip is built in to the Cobra's lower shaft for a secure, precise grip. A bonus of all this is that the shaft and grip stay warmer than on metal-shafted axes and so do your hands.
