A cunning idea for icefall climbers, combining a Grivel Helix Ice Screw and a wiregate quickdraw into one item, so saving the weight of a karabiner and meaning that there is less likelihood of dropping the ice screw as it can remain attached to the rope whilst being removed. The rubber ring is for clipping the krab onto when racking.
Grivel actually make (or plan to make) nine variations of this screw (10cm, 15cm and 20cm screws with a choice of 10cm, 20cm and 30cm quickdraw length, but we are just stocking the 15cm screw with a 20cm tape as we think this is the one most climbers are likely to place on the lead. Other combinations may be available to order.
Rather expensive but will probably appeal to those climbing regularly on cascade ice, particularly instructors, due to their reduction of the faff factor when placing gear.
