| | Explorer Maps are highly detailed 1:25000 maps for mountaineering situations where precise navigation is required or the terrain is complex. Although an extremely useful series they can be too detailed for planning long expeditions and the Landranger 1:50000 may be better for this. Only a selection covering areas of interest to climbers are stocked, but the whole series is generally quickly available. | | |
