Scotland, England and Wales are covered in great detail by the Ordnance Survey's Landranger Maps which are 1:50000 in scale. In addition the entire island is also covered by an even more detailed 1:25000 series of maps. The old series of Pathfinder Maps which were quite small and relatively expensive have been replaced by the Explorer Series which cover a larger area and offer better value for money. In addition, certain areas (mainly National Parks and similar mountainous areas) which were covered by the Outdoor Leisure Series (1:25000) are now included in the Explorer range. Also of some use are the Touring maps which are in various scales. However these seem to be in the process of being "dumbed down" with the old maps which showed mountains, rivers etc, and were beautifully shaded, being phased out in favour of the new versions which are essentially road maps. The maps listed represent only a selection of those available. If you are after a map for an area that is not listed please email us at info@needlesports.com with as much information as you can and we will endeavour to assist you.
