Seam Grip is a urethane-based seam sealer and repair adhesive for sealing and repairs to all types of fabrics except those treated with silicone. For Silicone treated fabrics use SilNet - see below.

For Instant Repairs! Tenacious Tape is ideal for fast in-field repairs on tents, rain gear, and more (it is even recommended by VWCamperSales Limited for repairing campervan awnings!). Super aggressive adhesive sticks to almost any surface and can be used for a variety of flexible, long lasting repairs. Non-gloss finish is almost invisible, eliminating the need to match colors on fabrics and other materials. Instantly seals leaking seams, tears and pinholes, stops rips from spreading and acts as an abrasion-resistant shield on high-wear areas. Can be used in conjunction with McNett Urethane Adhesives for ultra strong repairs. Includes one 3" x 20" (50cm x 7.5cm) strip of tape, 60 sq. inches (375 sq. cm).

Directions: Clean and dry area to be repaired. Trim loose threads. Join torn edges of material. For smaller repairs, cut tape for appropriate size, allowing overlap of repair of at least 1 inch (25mm) in all directions. Round the edges of tape for best adhesion. Remove paper backing and apply to damaged area over hard, flat surface. May be applied to outside surface or inside surface depending upon cosmetic preference, or both sides for the highest performance repair. After applying, rub with pressure using circular motion from center out. Item may be used immediately. Adhesive reaches full strength in 24 hours.

Adhesive Option: If more permanent repairs are desired. Tenacious Tape can be used with Seam Grip® or Aquaseal® Urethane Adhesives. If used in this manner, follow adhesive application instructions and overlap the adhesive with Tenacious Tape by at least 1 inch (25mm). Once adhesive is fully cured, the tape may be removed if desired.

Storage and Care: Store unused portion of tape in sealed plastic bag. Tenacious Tape is washable. Do not dry clean.

Although it says on the packet "Four round 8cm (3") diameter patches", recent shipments have contained two round ones and two rectangular ones with rounded corners. Available in clear for nearly invisible repairs, and black where fabric patches are preferred.

The essential field repair kit for all types of repairs including tents, sleeping pads, rainwear, backpacks, boots and more. Kit includes two adhesive backed Gore-tex® fabric pressure-sensitive patches. Ideal for Gore-tex and Windstopper® Fabric. Black only. Two patches per kit:
1x round 7.5cm diameter
1 x rectangular 10 x 5cm

Instructions: The patches supplied in this kit will provide a temporary water resistant repair for Gore-tex® fabric products.
Patches should be kept in sealed plastic bag until used.
Area to be repaired must be clean and dry.
Patch will not adhere effectively to loose debris, grease or oil.
Patch should overlap tear by at least ½" (1.2cm) in all directions.
Remove release paper from back of patch. Lay Gore product on a smooth flat surface and apply patch using finger pressure (adhesive side down). Rub patch surface in a circular motion from the center out covering the entire patch area.
The repaired item can be used immediately; however, the adhesive will continue to strengthen over the next 12 to 24 hours.
The durability of the patch can be enhanced by applying heat and moderate pressure. Use a clean iron and set to medium heat. Press with moderate pressure in a circular motion for 30 seconds.

Zip Care is specifically formulated to clean and lubricate plastic, nylon or metal zippers. Push/pull brush dispenser removes harmful dirt, sand and salt deposits. Zip Care rinses away after water entry, leaving a unique protective film which lubricates without collecting residue.

DIRECTIONS: Prior to application, unzip garment and use brush, with cap in closed position, to remove sand, mud and other debris. Remove grit from brush before lubricating zipper. Open cap and brush generous amount of Zip Care onto zipper teeth. Reapply regularly, especially before storage periods. Close cap and rinse brush after use.

Ideal for zips that come into regular contact with mud and grit such as those on gaiters, overtrousers, and zipped boots.

Ingenious two part hook that allows you to convert any 5mm elastic shock cord into octopus strapping. Obviously you will need two to make one octopus strap!

Elastic shock cord (or bungee cord as it is sometimes known) has many uses.

3mm is great for replacing clothing drawcords and for making wristloops for gloves (make a loop that needs to be stretched to get it over your wrist but is slightly slack when on the wrist. Leave a short section free which is notted into a hole made in the glove or an attacment point on the glove, leaving a "leash" between the wrist loop and the glove about 4" (20cm) long. When working without the gloves on, the elastic loops can be slid up the arm above the elbow to get the gloves out of the way.

4mm is the stuff for making crampon, ice axe and general attachment elastics for your rucksack. For ice axes, rather than fiddle about with buckles etc for securing the shaft of your axe, thread half a metre of shock cord through the attachment point and push both ends of the elastic through a flat cord lock. Now tie a knot in the end and voila - simply stretch the elastic over the axe shaft and pull the cord grip tight. A similar system can be used for attachment of crampons, camping mats etc.

5mm Shock cord is mainly used for making octopus straps in conjuntion with Elastic Cord Hooks.

This is the sort of webbing that belts and rucksack straps are made of. With the buckles listed and a little imagination a lot of simple bits of kit can be made or adapted. Comes in widths: 19mm, 25mm, 40mm and 50mm (we are sorry but we can't seem to get 30mm any more). 25mm tape belts are also available made up and can be ordered from our Accessories Section.
