The Rockfaces Page is devoted to rocks that look like faces, as opposed to faces of rocks, and it is up to you to submit photos for inclusion.

Many thanks to those who have submitted photographs.

Please submit a photograph

This is Cigar Face, who resides at the base of Charlotte Dome in Kings Canyon National Park, CA. A curmudgeon that likes to be left alone, however, good stogies always helps to persuade him for admission.

This picture is one of many taken in the northern latitudes of Mars by the Viking 1 Orbiter in search of a landing site for Viking 2.

The speckled appearance of the image is due to bit errors, emphasized by enlargement of the photo. The picture was taken on July 25, 1976 from a range of 1873 kilometers (1162 miles).

This photo has been much discussed by UFO proponents, although more recent, more detailed photos showed the 'face' to be nothing more than a rugged hill.

Above: Not the Grey Man of Merrick! Roddy Dunse has been to the right location but shot the wrong face!! The right-hand photo shows the true Grey Man on the right-hand side of the photo. On the evening the photos were taken the sun was getting low in the sky and right behind the rock face hence the other image being silhouetted against the evening sky. This impersonator has a smile, eyebrows and a drip on the end of his nose!
