Climbing Technology Click-Up Plus Lobster Orange Description

  • Brand : Climbing Technology

  • Code : CLT CLICKPLUSOR
  • Packaged Weight : 0.3KG
  • NB - we believe, and customer feedback indicates, that the original Click Up is the better device for single ropes up to 10mm diameter. It will pay the rope out far more smoothly and is less likely to jam at inopportune moments.

Innovative belay device/descender complete with an HMS karabiner. It works with dynamic single ropes from 8.5mm to 11mm. The evolution of the well-established Click Up, it has been developed for sport and indoor wall climbing, is simple to use, and its innovative design has safety features that prevent mistakes.

As the Click-Up has neither mechanism nor lever, it allows you to quickly and fluently feed rope without jamming by simply holding your hands on the rope.

When a fall occurs, you simply pull down the rope with your free hand, thereby allowing the mechanism to lock automatically; the rope is blocked by the connectors going up into the device.

You can unlock the rope and quickly feed it to your partner by pushing up on the Click-Up, always keeping the free end of the rope in your hand.

Lowering your partner is also easy: keep the free end of the rope in your hand and with the other palm slightly push on the Click-Up.

The final, but most fundamental feature, is in the case of incorrect use. Should the device be used incorrectly, the Click-Up continues to allow you to brake and lower your partner in complete safety.

    Like the previous model:
    • It allows the belayer to arrest a fall simply holding the free end of the rope with the braking hand.
    • It allows the belayer to lower the partner off by applying a slight pressure over the device, while keeping under tension the free end of the rope with the braking hand.
    • It ensures effective belaying even if the rope is incorrectly installed in the device (the strands of the rope are inverted) thanks to specific V-shaped, tapered, friction notches.

This is what makes the new Click Up really ‘+’:
    • More comfortable for top-rope belays, especially when used with indoor climbing ropes, thanks to the new geometry of the side plates.
    • More ergonomic, due to the new shape of the outer body.
    • Even safer, thanks to the V-Proof System (patent pending) that reduces the chance of error due to incorrect handling of the rope while braking. When belaying, some processes are critical (like taking-in and paying-out rope to the leader, or taking-in slack during top-roping) and, in the event of a fall, require the V-shaped angle of separation between the two sections of the rope to be maintained. A reduction in the value of this angle can affect the proper functioning of the device when locking the rope. The V-Proof System, featured on Click Up +, reduces the chance of error due to an incorrect reduction of the V-angle between the two strands of the rope. It consists of a mobile partition that facilitates the activation of the assisted-braking system. If during the fall of the climber the hand side of the rope comes into contact with the partition, this pressure contributes to the rotation of the device and to the consequent locking on the rope.
Made from with hot forged aluminium cheeks, steel breaking supports and plastic parts made of reinforced nylon.

    Weight: ca 110g.

This set includes the Climbing Technology Concept Screwgate Belay Karabiner, a hot forged light alloy screw gate HMS with keylock gate and special spring fastener that stops the krab turning round in circles and so removes the danger of cross loading.

It is important to use this karabiner and no other as the shape and diameter of the bar are optimum for the performance of the Click Up +.

    External dimensions: 10.5cm x 7.5cm. Gate opening 23mm. Weight 77g.

    Krab Strengths: Closed 23kN, Open 8kN, Cross-loaded 10kN.

    Total weight of both 187g.

NB This new version does not replace the standard version it just has extra safety features and is easier to use for children and groups. For experienced sport climbers the standard Click Up may still be the best option.
