A comprehensive guide to the classic routes on the 4000 metre peaks of the Alps by Martin Moran and the Alpine Club. The guide is written for the summer mountaineer and as well as the easy and popular (not to say overcrowded) voie normales, includes virtually all the other routes on each peak that are not pointless or dangerous - these include many great ridges and mixed climbs (including many alpine "Grande Courses") and are described in detail.
On Mont Blanc for instance, fourteen routes are described, ranging from the regular routes like Goûter Ridge and Grands Mulets to the Brenva Spur and the Peuterey Ridge.
