Climbing guide to five major volcanoes in Mexico: Iztaccíhuatl (5220m), Popocatépetl (5452m), El Pico de Orizaba (5610m), La Malinche (4462m) and Nevado de Toluca (4680m).
Technical difficulties on these peaks are minimal though at time snow and ice conditions demand the use of an ice axe, crampons and rope. Their major attraction is that they allow walkers and mountaineers of modest ability to experience climbing at altitude.
Clear monochrome maps, diagrams and photos.
