A pamphlet/guide on best ecological and ethical practice when climbing in the Lake District in winter.

It is produced by a coalition of interested parties namely, FRCC, BMC, Natural England, National Trust and the Lake District National Park, with the aim of keeping winter climbers off the most sensitive areas for rare plants unless they are well buried in snow and well frozen.

Card cover, 15 x 10.5cm, 34 pages.

Published 2015.

NB This booklet is mainly concerned with preventing damage to rare plants. For a more in depth analysis of the ethics of winter climbing in the Lake District, and in particular the avoidance of damage to classic rock climbs, there is an excellent online leaflet available on the BMC Website.
