The Paddy Buckley Round, also known as the Welsh Classical Round, is a much more recent creation than its better known Lakeland counterpart, the Bob Graham Round. As a result, fewer people attempt it and even fewer have succeeded on it. It is of similar distance to the Bob Graham but has slightly greater ascent and descent and traverses rather rougher ground. It is generally acknowledged to be tougher by at least an hour.

It is a circuit of some 61 miles with 28000' of ascent taking in 47 tops most of which are in the well-known areas of Snowdon, the Carneddau, the Glyderau and the Moelwynion. Paddy Buckley devised the round but Wendy Dodds was the first to complete it in 1982 in a time of 25 hours 38 minutes. The first sub-24 hour round was done by Martin Stone in 1985. Although most people would aim to complete the circuit in under 24 hours there is no actual time limit. The route may be started from any point and completed in either a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction and it is naturally divided into five sections, each of which starts and ends at a road crossing, making each section ideal for training runs.

This 1:40,000 map shows the whole of the Paddy Buckley Round. It is very lightweight and printed on waterproof plastic.

Folded size 24.5cm x 11.5cm.
