A single pole one person tent for the solo backpacker and mountain marathon competitor (can be pitched as fly only leaving lots of room,  or can sleep two at a tight pinch). Designed for summer use but Macpac think that it should be fine for three season use.
In relation to the well known Macpac Microlight Tent, Macpac say: The Sololight has been designed primarily to be lightweight, for use in walking or bike trips where weight is an issue. It's a modern, streamlined tent with a great liveable area due to its abundance of mesh pouches. Its vestibule area and wider usable body makes it quite easy to live out of. The Microlight is designed for all seasons. Its pole structure creates a more tapered roof, which helps to displace rain and snow more effectively (this has been tested). It also has a heavier floor fabric, so although they both have the same waterproof coating, it will be more durable. Due to the tapered roof, the living area is reduced. The Microlight does have a double door. Overall, the Macpac designers say that they feel they would rather live in and use the Sololight, but if conditions were bad, the Microlight is superior.”

20d polyester Ripstop Fly Fabric
Fly constructed with 20d polyester Ripstop with PE coating. The tent is factory seam taped, no need for the customer to seam seal at home. 
40D Ripstop Nylon Floor Fabric
Using a 40-denier ripstop nylon weave this tent floor fabric is incredibly durable and will resist abrasions when used in rough terrain. The multiple PU coatings give the 40d Ripstop Nylon fabric extreme water resistance, ensuring that the water stays on the outside when the rain sets in.

DAC Featherlite NSL™ Poles
Constant research and testing makes DAC Featherlite poles among the best-balanced tent poles on the market. Featherlite NSL™ is the latest development of tent pole from DAC. The design allows a continuous thin wall build with expanded ends. This allows the poles to be lightweight and strong. Featherlite NSL uses Green Anodizing™ processing which minimises the toxic chemicals used during the coating process. Macpac uses DAC Featherlite NSL™ 9.0 mm and the 9.6 mm poles according to the specific requirement of each tent.
Why Polyester over Nylon the Fly?
Polyester is better than nylon for lightweight tents because it doesn't stretch as much when wet, allowing for a more taut pitch. It’s also more UV resistant (and has been found to be stronger, with a tear strength test showing 20d polyester to be stronger than 20d nylon).
Why PE over PU?
Simply because it lasts longer. While PU is traditionally considered better for the environment – and environmental sustainability is one of our Macpac's as a company – they take the view that a tent that lasts longer is ultimately better for the planet than one that wears out faster.
