The Beal Karma 9.8mm is an intermediate rope mainly designed for sport and single pitch climbing and gives a good compromise between weight and rope diameter, striking a reassuring balance between slenderness and control. It provides manageability and compactness whilst not being so thin that it is scary. It is an ideal rope for climbers whose sport climbing is limited to occasional holidays abroad and, being untreated, it all comes at a reasonable price.
