The Lynx crampon, a much lighter replacement for the M10, is a similar crampon to Grivel's G14 with forged and easily replaceable monopoints or dual points. It is a semi-rigid crampon designed for steep ice and mixed climbing and the forged front points can be set up in a number of ways: dual or mono-point, long or short, and/or asymmetrical. It has a leverlock heel clip and two types of interchangeable front bindings (basically Full or Semi Step-In - both are included) to adapt to boots with or without toe welts.
The configuration and length of front points is changed with only one screw and spacer and the crampons are easily adaptable to boots with or without toe welts.
Includes integrated front and rear Antisnow plates, and a crampon bag.
A great all-round crampon in a similar mode to both the Grivel G14 and the Black Diamond Cyborg but lighter than both. Petzl seem to have addressed the problem of narrower toed modern boots and the bail on these crampons gives a really good fit on boots like the Scarpa Phantom Guide.
This new version has minor modifications to the original, the main one being that the heel lever no longer has a fine tune adjustment wheel, but there are now three sets of holes in the heel section to fit the heel lever to, as opposed to two in the old model. This saves ca 80g in weight. It also seems to fit better on smaller boots.
Weight/pair: 1000g (with bi-points and Antisnow plates).
