A super lightweight ridiculously stretchy waterproof softshell jacket with very high breathability and weather resistance - use it as an outer shell for running and a softshell for climbing.

The jacket is made with Rab Proflex™ which is extremely stretchy and allows incredible freedom of movement when climbing and moving fast and is designed for day-long use in challenging, changeable weather conditions.

The outer and inner layers of Proflex™ are engineered, high gauge knits - the outer treated for water repellency, the inner wicking to move moisture rapidly through the system. With A-line pockets and adjustable cuffs, this jacket is perfect for a range of mountain activities, whether worn as an outer layer in warmer seasons or as a mid layer in winter. It could perhaps do with a hem draw-cord, but other than this looks a great piece of kit that should prove very popular with fell runners.
  • Proflex™ stretchy, breathable and waterproof fabric allowing superb freedom of movement.
  • Slim fit.
  • Breathable membrane and taped seams.
  • High gauge wicking lining.
  • Close-fitting stretch-on hood with laminated and stiffened peak.
  • One-way YKK® AquaGuard® Vislon® front zip.
  • YKK® AquaGuard® A-line pockets.
  • Hook and loop adjustable cuffs .
  • Stitch-free hem and cuffs for comfort.
Weight ca 320g.

Protex is a very stretchy waterproof fabric designed by Rab. The waterproofness is not that high at 10,000mm hydrostatic head (ie the depth of water that can sit on top of the fabric without it leaking) compared with the best fabrics, but the breathibility is very impressive 35,000 MVTR (Moisture Vapour Transmission Rate measured in g/m2/24 hours).

Compare this with more expensive fabrics like Gore-tex Pro-shell which has a 28,000mm hydrostatic head and breathability of 25,000 MVTR.
