The 450 lumen Black Diamond Spot DFR Headlamp is a great water resistant light to have in your rucksack when you want one headtorch that will do everything, whether it's cooking up some grub after a long day on the hill or spotting potential ab points on some storm-battered nocturnal epic.The only difference between this and the standard Spot is that the DFR includes BD's rechargeable BD 1500 Li-ion battery and does not come with any AAAs.
It has multiple lighting modes, including red, green, and blue light options, a flood and spot lens, mode memory, and Power Tap technology that optimises battery life while boosting light output when you need it most. This means that the Spot has peripheral lighting for close-range activities like sorting gear, cooking, or reading in camp, but can very quickly be very bright and focussed when you need to be both of those things. The Spot can be powered by BD's rechargeable BD 1500 Li-ion battery (included) or three AAA batteries (not included) which is great if you are on a prolonged trip in the wilds where you can't charge it up.
