This lightweight water filtration system is very simple to use, fast and durable. It filters out dirt, bacteria and protozoa (but not viruses).
It features a sturdy, flip-to-open clean side cap, a grippy filter cartridge cover, and an easy-to-fill extra-wide mouth reservoir with a useful handle - you need to supply your own clean water reservoir. The dirty side cap creates a reliable seal to prevent seepage, ensuring dirty water cannot contaminate the clean side nor leak into your rucksack.
The dirty water reservoir is made of the same taste free and durable film as other Platypus’ products. The filter is also compatible with multiple bottle types. Additionally, users can drink directly from its spout.
The QuickDraw™ Microfilter uses a 0.2 micron hollow fibre cartridge to remove 99.9999% of bacteria and 99.9% of protozoa as required by the NSF P231 standard.
To use the QuickDraw™ Microfilter System simply fill the dirty reservoir to capacity, screw the dirty side of the filter cartridge into the reservoir, tip the whole thing upside down, position the spout over your clean water container, and squeeze.
It has a shake-to-clean mechanism that allows it to keep working throughout its lifetime with no need to take it to pieces or wash it out. The fill and squeeze method considerably reduces the weight and complexity of the filter.
The QuickDraw™ Microfilter will be particularly useful to long distance backpackers who need to drink regularly but don't want to carry litres of clean water, but also for all hillwalkers worried about the possibility of a dead sheep higher up that fellside beck.
