The Mont Blanc and Aiguilles Rouges massifs are amongst the world's most popular and prestigious ski and winter mountaineering destinations. Ranging from ski touring classics to the toughest ski mountaineering challenges, this guide includes precise and complete descriptions of over 400 descents. The routes are graded like alpine climbs, from F to ED and even harder at ABO (Abominablement Dificile!). With over 300 colour photos and photodiagrams, this is an indispensable guide to quite simply some of the world's best skiing!

Although a quick glance at the pictures in the guide may lead you to conclude that this is a book for extreme skiing experts only, actually half the routes are graded AD or easier which is the grade given to the popular Col du Passon.

The only negative thing about this guide is that the few maps included are very poor and that suitable IGN maps of the area will be found indespensible when planning or undertaking any of these tours.

The author Anselme Baud is a mountain guide and was the first to ski an impressive number of great faces in the Alps including the north face of the Aiguille Blanche de Peuterey and the north face of the Aiguille du Midi.
