The County of Dún na nGall (Donegal) in the north-west of Ireland contains more climbable rock than the rest of Ireland combined, boasting two major mountain ranges, over a thousand kilometres of coastline, over a dozen granite islands and a lifetime's worth of sea stacks. In fact there are currently a shade over 3,500 rock climbs recorded throughout the county which explains why the publishers have opted for a selected climbs guide documenting the best climbs with details of just under 600 routes. However, each chapter in this guide has a corresponding free definitive PDF at Dún na nGall On-Line Guidebook.
This selected guide documents the south-west from Cionn Mhucrios to the lonely Gleann Colm Cille, north along the coast to the remote and isolated An Port and its many sea stacks. and further north over Ceann na Cruaiche to the granite islands of western Dún na nGall, then back southwards through the mountain ranges of Doire Bheatha and An Chruach Ghorm.
With a good mix of grades from three-starred Diffs to E8 and the average grade of the entire guide being a shade over VS, there is a lifetime of classic rock to play on for climbers of all abilities.
