Sport climbing, via ferrata, deep water soloing and multi-pitch climbing in Oman, a country on the tip of the Arabian peninsula the size of Great Britain and Ireland combined but with only four million inhabitants. The landscape in the northern part is dominated by desert and rugged mountain ranges including the Al Hajar Mountains with Jebel Shams being the highest peak with 2,998 metres above sea level. The Dhofar Mountains dominate the southern part of Oman and have Jebal Samhan at 1,800m as their highest peak.

This book includes everything from long multi pitch routes to single pitch sport climbs and deep water soloing. It is actually two separate books combined in a clear plastic sleeve. The first volume contains all the normal stuff that you'd expect in a guidebook, maps, photo diagrams, descriptions etc. The second has highly detailed hand drawn style topos of the multipitch routes described in the first - a dotted line and scissors symbol suggests cutting the page out for the route you want to climb though actually the book is quite small enough to slip into your pocket.

The book covers 26 areas and 104 sectors. Brilliant photos tempt the reader to visit this exotic climbing destination.
