An interesting development from DMM, the Pivot is a state-of-the-art belay device catering for modern belay techniques with the latest ropes. It can be used in standard mode as a normal belay device or in guide mode where a second is automatically locked off if the rope is let go.
It provides the best performance both belaying from the harness in standard mode and directly from the anchor in guide mode where the unique pivot system (patent pending) allows controlled and easy lowering. In this mode the Pivot allows the belayer to lower a single second or two seconds, simultaneously or individually, with total control using the specially shaped karabiner hole.
Like any modern belay plate, the Pivot can also be used for abseiling.

This version includes a DMM Phantom HMS screwgate karabiner. An extremely compact, lightweight and yet strong, true HMS shape karabiner that is ideally suited to belaying. Use of an extra-short gate means it can take two clove hitches with ease.
