Unusual sewn slings made of 6mm HMPE cord.
HMPE (High Modulus Polyethylene) is what Dyneema is made of and has a significantly higher breaking strength for its weight compared with more conventional slings. HMPE is simply an unbranded version of Dyneema.
Typically, HMPE does not melt until it reaches 144°C, is ultra low stretch, and is stronger that steel wire.
Because they are made from quite stiff cord, they are excellent for thread placements. The 30cm version is also particularly suitable for use as a Prusik loop.
Certifications: EN 354, EN 566.
Minimum breaking strength:22 kN.
Diameter: 6mm.
Please note that this is a replacement for Edelrid's Aramid Sling.
