Durable, lightweight flexible 10 point crampons intended for fell-running, hiking and non-technical mountaineering. The strap system is designed to work with running shoes as well as ski, snowshoe, hiking, and telemark boots (an innovative hook on the heel strap hooks onto your shoe laces), and we see no reason why they shouldn't be fixed to rockshoes for short glacier approaches to technical alpine rock climbs.
They are made from 5130 chromoly steel (heat-treated for strength) and are ideal for the UK as they will cope with the wear and tear of rocky terrain. For added comfort and range of motion, Kahtoola's patented LeafSpring® Flex Bar technology, allows the ankle and foot to move independently.
The front points are 26 degrees open for optimal performance with flexible footwear. The crampons are very lightweight, and they fold down into a compact package of 20cm x 9cm x 9cm).
They can be fitted to almost any boot and come in two sizes.
They also include Snow Release Skins (anti-balling plates) which are not shown in the pictures. (A storage bag is not included.)
