Petzl Vasak Leverlock Universel Crampons

A classic 12-point mountaineering crampon with a full step in binding and a semi step in binding - both are included.

Vasak crampons are ideal for general purpose mountaineering and ice climbing up to Scottish IV/V.

However we have found that the heel is too narrow to fit well on wide high altitude mountain boots such as the Spantic, for which the Grivel G12 or Airtech are better choices.

Linking bar can be set for flexible or semi-rigid modes to adapt the crampon to flexible or rigid boots. Anti-balling plates (antibots) are included.

The Petzl Vasak and the Petzl Irvis are pretty much large and small versions of the same crampon in that the design of the front and secondary points is the same for both, and the rear sections are the same. The centre bars are also identical. However, the front section of the Vasak is longer with an extra pair of points and this makes it suitable for larger boots, whilst the Irvis with its short front section is suitable for smaller boots.
