American Skot Richards was a union ironworker for a decade before leaving the trade and becoming a container crane mechanic in the LA harbour. Specialising in crane relocation, modernisation and modification, he's a certified rigger, heavy lift specialist and an experienced welder. In his spare time, there's climbing, and especially aid climbing, the technical aspect and problem solving requirements of bigwall climbing being the main draw for him. Almost from the start Skot began modifying and making his own gear, and his interest in tinkering has led to the creation of new and innovative gear for bigwall climbing.
